Banksy at work on the Palestinian Wall...

Here is a video of Banksy at work on the Palestinian Wall, it was broadcasted on the news. I found this very entertaining and interesting to watch!

Children and escape - Banksy research

I have added photographs taken from Banksy's book 'Wall and Piece'. I have used some of these images in my final essay and have spoke about the backgrounds and what they mean as you will see in my next post.

Palestine Wall - Banksy research...

I have also taken photographs from Banksy's book 'Wall and Piece' in the section on the Palestinian Wall where he has stencilled things such as children needing a chance of escape. He says it is the |"largest open air prison". So to see beautiful backgrounds being sprayed on to these walls doesn't exactly give the perception of hope, but it is what we imagine could be behind these walls- an escape to a surreal beautiful place.

Banksy's Rats research...

I have taken photographs again from Banksy's book 'Wall and Piece' as I have been looking at how Banksy's work is post-modern. By doing this I have looked at the irony in his work. As you can see he stencils a lot of rats around different parts of the UK, this is supposed to show the social decline in society. I have also wrote about this in my final essay.

Double Coding - Banksy research..

Here are some of the images I liked from Banksy's book 'Wall and Piece'. They show how he uses double - coding, where he takes things from the past and makes them look new. I think that Monet image is quite cheeky yet very true, because now in our day in age we do see shopping trolly's and horrible debris in small rivers, lakes and so on. I also like the Mona Lisa he has stencilled where she is holding a bazooka and I have talked about this piece of work in my final essay.
